Description:
Cocoa from the fair trade harvests of the southwestern region of Cameroon in the Konye area. A complete flavor, for those who most enjoy the cocoa aroma of the chocolate cradle. It is cultivated by KONAFCOOP (Konye Area Farmers’ Cooperative Society), a farmers' cooperative founded three decades ago to address the inequalities created by the liberalization of the cocoa market in Cameroon where peasants could once again own their own harvests and of production.
KONAFCOOP places special emphasis on empowering women so that their husbands give them the full management of the harvest and more and more Cameroonian peasants become part of this cooperative that already groups more than 350 members.
Thanks to fair trade, these farmers have achieved a chocolate of excellent quality and allows them to move forward in a freer way.
